As a Showcase Festival, JBS emphasizes not only the attendance of spectators but also the presence of “buyers” or DELEGATES—industry professionals invited to observe the performances. These DELEGATES include Promoters, Booking Agents, Festival Directors, Venue Directors, Music Producers, Record Labels, Music Distributors, Artist Managers, and various other stakeholders in the music industry. The festival aims to present its musical offerings to these buyers, facilitating potential collaborations and opportunities.
What sets JBS apart from other music festivals in Indonesia are its Conferences, Speed Meetings, and Pitching Sessions. These components are designed to empower Indonesian musicians, helping them to maximize their creative potential and gain access to the international market. With Indonesia’s rich musical resources, success in the global music industry—valued at over $100 billion—could transform the Indonesian music scene into a significant source of prosperity for the nation.
Recognizing the potential of this initiative, the DKJ Provincial Government, through its Tourism and Creative Economy Office, is committed to fostering this vision by positioning Jakarta as a central hub for the global music industry in Asia.
During this JBS, a significant element known as the Speed Meeting or Business Meeting will take place. This event will provide all performing groups with a unique opportunity to engage in face-to-face interactions with DELEGATES, allowing them to present and promote their music products. The goal is to foster potential business agreements, serving as an essential first step for these groups to enter the international market.
In addition to the Speed Meeting, the Pitching Session is another crucial event at JBS. This session will spotlight several important aspects of the music industry in Indonesia, providing an opportunity for participants to gain insights and make valuable connections within the sector.
