Formed in Bandung in 2010, The Signals originally started as Kremlin, a band known for their rock and hip metal vibes. After evolving and relocating to Jakarta, they embraced a hard rock sound characterized by James’ powerful vocals and Erland’s intricate guitar work.

“The Signals is a band formed in Bandung in 2010. Initially, this band was called Kremlin which carried the rock and hip metal genres. Kremlin is quite well-known in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, regularly filling music events and also performing at cafes. Thus, making Kremlin have a fairly large fan base. They have also made a theme song for the Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Bandung (PERSIB) Bandung football club entitled “”Arti Persib””. Over time and with changes in personnel, Kremlin finally changed its name to The Signals and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Musically, this song has a hard rock feel with a little scream in the interlude.

James’ fierce vocals, with an outburst of emotion, channeled into the notes and lyrics that are sung. Like other songs by The Signals, Erland’s guitar feels very neat with his shredding in the interlude part but still sounds harmonious. Erland is accompanied with Ryan’s guitar, layering thick with his metal sounds. For the drum part, it feels more powerful with complex fill-ins and tight beats from Gilang, then finally it lures Rizal to fill and complete the beats with bass fillings that are very interesting to hear.

After releasing three singles in 2023 and one single in 2024, The Signals are back to releasing their latest single in early 2025, entitled ‘Akhiri’. This song tells the story of a relationship that must end because a relationship that started with love slowly becomes an unhealthy relationship or can be called a Toxic Relationship. “”Akhiri”” is one of The Signals’ songs that can be said to be the true character of The Signals’ music. The personnel bring out all their creative ideas in this song, so that the modern rock nuances that are indeed the core of The Signals’ music, are heard. This song was created by James (Vocal) and Erland (Guitar). “”Akhiri”” entered the recording studio in 2024, released in 2025, produced by The Signals “”Akhiri”” can now be enjoyed on all digital platforms, for the official lyric video you can watch it on the Official Channel Youtube of The Signals.”
