Nadine Makalew is a soloist from Surabaya, Indonesia. Nadine has always shown a great interest in music since childhood by studying classical piano instruments as well as church music and several other musical activities such as joining a band and playing gamelan.
In 2015, Nadine studied at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences in Freiburg, Germany with a focus on the songwriting study program. From 2020 to 2022, Nadine stayed in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to develop a solo music project with new connections and collaborated along several musicians and producers.
Nadine’s work began with her first single, “”Paradise”” which was released in 2020. The following year, she collaborated with a Dutch producer, Sven Figee, which was seen in Nadine’s second release called “”I Will Be””. In the same year, Nadine released an Extended Play (EP): “”Voyages Of Life”” and “”Sonorous””, both of which were written together with musicians from Germany, namely Nadine Traore, Timo Langpap, and Joscha Tritschler. Nadine’s music in this EP covers several genres from pop, rock, and soul to gospel. The songs were diverse and embodied interesting background stories.
Having stayed in Europe for a long time, Nadine decided to return to her homeland to develop a solo music project and released a song, ‘The Other Side’ as the first single on her debut album ‘Time Traveler’. The Other Side has a great response among European listeners and got invited for an Interview from Superpop.TV UK. On top of that The Other Side was in the Top 10 of European Music Indie Network Chart. Following with ‘Spell On Me’ and ‘Better future’ as the second and thrid single after The Other Side. Nadine is ready to make a splash and give fresh color to the Indonesian music scene.
