Lorjhu’

Lorjhu’, a project initiated by Badrus Zeman in 2019, draws its name from the Madurese word for Bamboo Shellfish. This solo endeavor successfully blends the sounds of Madura’s traditional music, regional language, and modern influences, with the first single, “Nemor,” released in February 2020.

“Starting from a solo project created by Badrus Zeman in 2019, with the name Lorjhu’ or read as Lorjhuk (Madurese language) which is taken from the type of shellfish name (Bamboo Shellfish). Lorjhu’ successfully assimilating the sounds of Madura tradition, Madura regional language and modern music, with the release of his first single entitled “”Nemor”” successfully released in February 2020.

The pandemic era is one of Badrus’s opportunities to continue working through his moniker (Lorjhu’) hit singles appearing on digital releases. In 2022, through the Demajors label, Lorjhu’ released a full album entitled “”Paseser”” with nine tracks in it. The nine tracks are a compilation of singles that have been released, and one new track entitled Can Macanan as a hit number on the Paseser album. Not long after the release of the Paseser album, Badrus tried to change Lorjhu’ with a Band format, no longer solo. Finally, Insan Negara (bass) joined, marked by their first concert as a band at the 2022 Archipelago Festival held at the Macan Museum in Jakarta.

Over time time, Lorjhu’, with the Band format, has been quite active in participating in several stages, one of which is the 2022 Synchronize Festival, and several music festivals in several other cities.
In 2023, under the auspices of the new label Bahasa Ibu Records, Lorjhu’ released their second album entitled “”Parenduan””, with a harder musical style but still in the main treasure of Lorjhu’, the first release of two singles from the Parenduan album, “”Abhantal Ombak”” and “”Parenduan”” which also coincided with the release of the music videos for the two tracks.”
